How to Sauté Salmon

serves 2

2 Salmon fillets
1 teaspoon Vital Choice organic salmon marinade
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

For Perfectly Sautéed Salmon there are a few key steps that should be followed.

First, pat the salmon dry with a paper towel.

Next, season the filets with the seasoning of your choice. Here you get to choose to highlight the savory salmon flavor by using simple salt & pepper or spicing up the plate with a bold and delicious rub. We recommend Taku Rubs which are MSG and allergen free and go great on both halibut or salmon.

Once your seasoning has been applied, drizzle the salmon filets with olive oil., Ensure they are fully coated.

Preheat skillet to medium-high heat.

Cook the salmon, without moving, skin side up, until golden and crisp, about 4 minutes. Carefully flip the fillets and reduce the heat to medium. Continue cooking until done to your liking, 4 to 5 minutes more

*Cooking time varies by species due to varying fat contents — sockeye cooks the quickest, where you almost want to cook it on the raw end and let it rest to finish for 2-3 minutes. While King salmon, rich in Omega-3s cooks the slowest.

The best way to check if your fish is finished is to stick a fork in it. If it resists it is still raw. If it goes in and pulls our of the fish easily, it's done.
